Theragun's popularity has grown significantly recently, thanks to the impressive slow-motion videos posted by athletes and coaches from around the world. Read on to find out more!

About Theragun

Theragun is a massage device used to relieve muscle tension and pain. This device is being used by more and more people –from sports enthusiasts to professional athletes.

Like many great products and inventions, Theragun was created by Dr. Jason, a surgeon by profession, after he was injured. He was looking for a way to speed up the recovery period. Of course, the early versions of Theragun were more complex but after many changes, we have received Pro, PRIME and ELITE models, which are also available at the official Theragun distributor in Latvia - Gfitness.

Theragun and science

Theragun is created for "communication with the nerv system" using three parameters:

Amplitude: How deep does it hits? (Theragun makes 16 mm beats)

Frequency: How fast does it hit? (Theragun has an adjustable speed range of 1750 to 2400 beats per minute)

Strength: How much pressure does it withstand? (Theragun withstands pressures of up to 27 kg. But that doesn't mean it has to be pressed so hard!)

Combining all the above, the highest quality percussion massage device was created.

Percussion massage

Percussion massage is a type of soft tissue manipulation,  designed to reduce muscle pain and increase the range of motion. It is a deep muscle massage with quick and long vertical beats, causing neuromuscular activation.

Summary

Percussion massage devices are the latest trend in the recovery phase of athletes, for several reasons - they are easy to use, effective, help to recover faster after training and this massage can be performed both by yourself and with the help of a specialist. However, outside the recovery period, Theragun can also be used before a workout to improve blood flow, relieve soft tissue pain, and activate the sympathetic nervous system, which normally prepares the body for active activities.
