Choosing the right weight bar is important as it can have a significant impact on your training results, comfort and safety. Below you will find a selection of the most popular barbells, their features and the most suitable uses.

Bars (30mm diameter)

Bars with a diameter of 30mm are generally lighter and easier to grip, making them ideal for beginners or people into functional training, general strength training or rehabilitation exercises. These bars are suitable for a variety of exercises such as arm bends and overhead presses. The 30mm diameter bars are suitable for smaller spaces such as home gyms and group exercise classes, but these bars are also used in fitness clubs. The length of the bar is most commonly 180cm.

Olympic bars

Olympic bars are designed for serious weightlifters. The construction of these bars is designed to withstand high loads. Olympic bars are suitable for exercises such as squats, deadlifts and push-ups.

Olympic bars are most often made of high quality steel, which provides excellent durability. Olympic bars also tend to have a groove for a more secure grip to make weightlifting exercises safer. The standard length of the Olympic bars is 220cm - this allows for exercise variations with a wider grip position and higher loads.

Special bars

Specialty bars offer unique designs and features tailored to specific exercises or training goals. Whether you're training specific muscle groups or simply want to vary your workout programme, these bars offer versatile functionality. The special bars have different grip options and angles, ergonomic design for comfort making your workouts more effective. The lengths of the bars may vary depending on the type of bar.

Depending on the type of special bar, they can be used for exercises such as arm curls or bicep curls (with curved bars) or deadlifts (with trap bar).
